ITU CWG-Internet launches Open Consultation on the “Access to the Internet for persons with disabilities and specific needs”
ITU’s Council Working Group on international Internet-related public policy issues (CWG-Internet) agreed on 2 October 2015 to conduct online and physical open consultations on the following topic:
Access to the Internet for persons with disabilities and specific needs
• What are the different challenges facing persons with disabilities and specific needs (e.g. lack of ICT skill sets etc.) in accessing and using the Internet?
• What possible approaches and examples of good practices are available to address these challenges?
• What are the gaps in addressing these challenges and how can these gaps be filled?
• What is the role of governments in addressing these challenges and gaps?
You are kindly invited to submit your contribution by 15 January 2016, through the following link: http://www.itu.int/en/council/cwg-internet/Pages/consultation-oct2015.aspx, where you can also find important information and instructions on the submission process.
A physical open consultation meeting will be held following the end of the online consultation. Further details will be announced on the CWG-Internet webpage in due course.
