Save the date: World Smart City Forum 2017, Barcelona, Spain, 15 November
The World Smart City Forum 2017 will share insight into city leaders’ ambitions in sustainable urban development and the value of international standards in supporting smart city innovation.
The forum will be held on 15 November 2017 in Barcelona, Spain, in conjunction with the Smart City Expo World Congress.
Co-organized by the three leading international standards bodies – IEC, ISO and ITU – the World Smart City Forum 2017 is the second event of its kind, building on the success of the World Smart City Forum 2016 in Singapore.
The aim of the World Smart City Forum is to fast-forward progress towards the achievement of smart city objectives using the common platforms provided by international standards.
Over 200 influential smart city thinkers – from city leaders to industry players, investors and standardization experts – will meet in Barcelona for a full day of highly interactive discussions on the innovation required to overcome key challenges to sustainable urban development.
Decision-makers driving the transition to smart cities will share their visions for the future of urban development. Case studies will explore major smart city projects and related lessons learnt, exploring solutions with potential to be replicated by other cities around the world.
Standards experts will share their perspective on how international standards will support urban innovation by offering guidance in meeting the technical, environmental and social challenges faced by city services and city inhabitants.
