IoT Trends and Challenges to be Analyzed in February ITU Workshop
ITU’s workshop on the “Internet of Things – Trends and Challenges in Standardization” will host a side exhibition with four exhibitors confirmed so far.
STMicroelectronics will showcase its Smart home concept; EPFL its OpenIOT project. Japan’s National Institute of Information and Communications (NICT) will display its medical body area network and there will be an additional exhibit from SAP and Yokosuka Telecom Research Park (YRP).
The event will be held on February 18, 2014 in Geneva and is geared towards IoT application developers, operators, and policy makers, as well as government and university representatives.
The agenda for the workshop includes discussions about the international standards for M2M, business models and the latest in academic research on IoT.

The workshop will be followed by the ninth meeting of the Global Standards Initiative on the Internet of Things (IoT-GSI) that will focus on developing IoT standards, and the tenth meeting of the IoT Joint Coordination Activity (JCA-IoT), which provides a platform for international bodies to coordinate IoT standardization.
