Webinar on ITU-T Study Group 12 meeting results: Thursday 21 January, 15:45-16:30 (CET)
The management team of ITU-T Study Group 12 invites you to tune into a webinar to learn the results of the group’s meeting, 12-21 January 2016. The webinar will be held 15:45-16:30 (CET), Thursday 21 January, following the meeting’s closing plenary. Interpretation will be offered in Arabic, Chinese, English and French.
The topics to be covered by the webinar include the initiation of new work on Network Function Virtualization (NFV) of quality measurements; as well as the first-stage approval (‘consent’) of new standards on quality of service (QoS) for Voice over LTE (VoLTE) and telemeetings, and the assessment of speech intelligibility.
The webinar will be moderated by the Chairman of ITU-T Study Group 12, Kwame Baah-Acheamfuor of Ghana’s National Communications Authority. The meeting’s results will be presented by the Chairmen of the group’s three Working Parties:
- Lars Birger Nielsen, Brüel & Kjaer, Denmark: “Terminals and multimedia subjective assessment”
- Paul Barrett, Netscout, UK: “Objective models and tools for multimedia quality”
- Paul Coverdale, Huawei Technologies, Canada: “Multimedia QoS and QoE”
ITU-T Study Group 12 develops international standards on performance, quality of service (QoS) and quality of experience (QoE). This work spans the full spectrum of terminals, networks and services, ranging from speech over fixed circuit-switched networks to multimedia applications over mobile and packet-based networks. The standards developed by the group are highly relevant to operators in providing the level of service necessary to attract and retain customers in today’s competitive business environment.
The next meeting of ITU-T Study Group 12 will be held at ITU Headquarters in Geneva, 7-16 June 2016.
