Press Release: ITU launches headquarters architecture competition: Registration open until 5 May 2017

Geneva, 13 April 2017 – Following a decision by ITU Council, ITU is organizing an architecture competition for the design of a new headquarters building in Geneva, Switzerland. ITU, the United Nations’ specialized agency for information and communication technologies (ICTs), has been headquartered at its Place des Nations site in Geneva since 1962. With this project to deliver a smart sustainable headquarters building integrated into the local environment, ITU reinforces its commitment to serving its Member States, private sector members and associates and academia from a location at the heart of international organizations’ activity in Geneva. The new HQ will provide a forum for physical and virtual meetings via accessible, state-of-the-art conference facilities.   The architecture competition is open to all professional architects duly registered in any of ITU’s 193 Member States.
