ITU elects Directors of its three Bureaux

On a first and final round of the elections on Friday, 24 October 2014, 16.00 hours (Busan time) the Directors of the three ITU Bureaux were elected as follows:

Director of the ITU’s Radiocommunication Bureau
François Rancy of France was elected Director of ITU’s Radiocommunication Bureau with 166 votes. 166 countries were present and voting and the required majority was 84.

Director of ITU’s Telecommunication Standardization Bureau
Chaesub Lee of Republic of Korea was elected Director of ITU’s Telecommunication Standardization Bureau with 87 votes. 169 countries were present and voting and the required majority was 85. Bilel Jamoussi of Tunisia received 50 votes and Ahmet Erdinç Çavuşoğlu of Turkey received 32 votes.

Brahima Sanou of Burkina Faso was elected Director of ITU’s Telecommunication Development Bureau with 166 votes. 166 countries were present and voting and the required majority was 84.
